Located off Convention Center Boulevard in the hotel’s Porte-Cochère, NOBU Restaurant transforms a former 7,470-square-foot gaming area into a refined 4,700-square-foot dining space. The design features five custom dining “pods,” an intimate sushi bar, a stylish main bar and lounge, along with a spacious 2,770-square-foot kitchen.
Upon entering, guests are greeted by the luxury and minimalist elegance that defines Nobu’s signature style. The restaurant resides partially beneath the existing casino structure and the new hotel structure. Because of this, high emphasis was placed on keeping the movement joint that separates the two buildings true to it’s design by using slip connections between the walls and ceilings. Key design elements include an acoustical plaster ceiling, Venetian plaster in the lounge, walnut finishes throughout, including a live edge countertop, stones imported from Japan, and “pod” screens designed create a three-dimensional effect reminiscent of the vines and cypress trees of Louisiana Bayous.
