The Historic New Orleans Collection

The former K-Paul’s Kitchen sat unoccupied for 4 years until their neighbors, The Historic New Orleans Collection, purchased it in 2024. The 3-story, 10,096sf space and 487sf courtyard  will become a dedicated exhibit preparation shop and additional offices for the team of THNOC. Structural rehabilitation of existing wood framing and masonry conditions are required to reinforce the new slate roof and existing interior structures. Discovered in surveying reports, the 416 Chartres property sits much lower than the neighboring properties. A 15” slab will be poured to bring the rear elevation level with the adjacent property for ease of access between the two buildings.  The existing hydraulic elevator will be removed, and the shaft will be modified to accommodate a new traction elevator.
