The Good Shepherd School is a unique private Catholic School that offers students a tuition free education funded by donors and state vouchers. Having outgrown their previous campus in the Central Business District, the school’s leaders acquired property in the Gentilly area to build a new campus that would allow for doubling the enrollment and for the addition of two new pre-kindergarten classes. Much of the funding for the campus was raised through donations. To ensure that The Good Shepherd School received the best value, RGGC partnered with Blitch/Knevel Architects for design assist services. The project consisted of demolishing all existing structures and paving at the new location, followed by the construction of a brand new two-story school building. The new school building is a slab-on-grade, pre-engineered metal building with a combination of a brick veneer and a metal panel system on the exterior. Outside of the building, two separate play areas have been constructed, along with a driveway for drop-offs and pick-ups.
