KID smART Center for Arts & Education

The KID smART Center for Arts & Education project involves the renovation of a 90+ year-old building located in the historic Bayou Road neighborhood. The scope includes converting the first floor into office and training spaces and building out the second floor with multiple visual arts classrooms, a podcasting studio, a dance studio with a sprung floor, and a performing arts room with theater lighting. Work will require careful integration of new mechanical systems and an elevator into the existing historic structure while maintaining the building’s character. Unique elements include the installation of specialized performance flooring, theatrical lighting, and a bold paint scheme featuring over 30 different colors. Once complete, the facility will provide KID smART with a modern, functional, and creative environment.
