Located in the heart of the French Quarter, 828 Bourbon St. is a Design-Build historic renovation and adaptive reuse project that transformed two existing French Quarter buildings into a six-unit multifamily residential development. The scope included structural reinforcement of the existing historic buildings, selective demolition, restoration of historic architectural elements, reconstruction of deteriorated building components, installation of new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, and complete residential buildout. The project also involved integrating modern building infrastructure within the existing historic structures while meeting current code requirements and preservation standards.
Working within the active Bourbon Street corridor and under strict preservation requirements, the project required precise coordination, phased construction sequencing, and innovative solutions to modernize the buildings while preserving their historic character and architectural integrity.
