Immediately after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Ryan Gootee saw his year-old business take off to meet an urgent demand for rebuilding.

Nearly two decades later, things haven’t slowed down much for the Metairie construction services firm.

Ryan Gootee General Contractors has helped construct educational facilities, athletic complexes, restaurants, residential buildings, offices and retail developments across the New Orleans area, taking on historic renovations and restorations along the way.

In pursuing construction, Gootee continued down a path set out by his great grandfather in 1909. In his youth, Gootee worked on projects during the summers with his father’s company.

Gootee founded his company in 2004 as a small group of builders, and over the years it has grown into a regional firm with over 50 employees.
