RGGC is performing exterior restoration on the historic Bank of Louisiana building at St. Charles Avenue and Gravier Street. Designed by renowned architect James Gallier and constructed in 1855, this Italian Renaissance-style landmark has stood for nearly 170 years in the heart of the Central Business District. The project requires full scaffolding and swingstages to access all façades and address deteriorating plaster, which is expected to be in worse condition than the drawings indicate. Work includes repairing and replacing damaged plaster, restoring architectural details, and ensuring the building’s exterior remains structurally sound.
