RGGC completed a three-story addition to Holy Name of Jesus School, expanding the historic 1932 campus with new spaces for academics, athletics, and the arts. The addition includes early childhood classrooms on the first floor, a full-size gymnasium on the second floor, and a third-floor running track overlooking the gym, along with dedicated music and art rooms and a concession stand.
Constructed on a tight site within Loyola University’s campus, the project required careful integration of the new addition with the existing school and extensive coordination with Holy Name of Jesus, Loyola University, and neighboring properties. The second-floor gymnasium and elevated running track presented unique structural and sequencing requirements within the constrained building footprint.
Construction was completed while the elementary school remained fully operational, requiring detailed planning of site access, deliveries, noise, and construction activities to maintain a safe environment and minimize disruption to students and faculty. The completed addition expands the school’s early childhood programming while providing dedicated facilities for athletics, music, and art.
