Completed through a 50/50 joint venture between RGGC and Lemoine, Horseshoe Lake Charles transformed the former Isle of Capri riverboat casino into a fully land-based casino and resort. The project included construction of a new single-story casino addition with 72,000 SF of gaming space, a VIP lounge, multiple restaurants, and extensive parking and hardscape improvements. A new vertical transportation tower connected the existing parking garage directly to the casino, integrating the new construction with the property’s existing structures and building systems.

A major component of the redevelopment was the complete renovation and redesign of the existing 253-room hotel tower, including guest rooms, finishes, and new mechanical systems connected to the central plant. The project also included approximately 35,000 SF of renovations to the existing pavilion and atrium, along with upgrades to the food court, coffee shop, and other resort amenities.

RGGC and Lemoine jointly provided preconstruction and construction services throughout the redevelopment. The project evolved significantly following Hurricane Laura, COVID-19 impacts, and Caesars Entertainment’s decision to transition the property from Isle of Capri to the Horseshoe brand. The team coordinated these changes while converting gaming operations from the existing riverboat to the new land-based casino and renovating the hotel and existing resort facilities as part of the overall transformation.
