The Hotel Perle

RGGC transformed the historic 1916 building at 757 St. Charles Avenue into The Hotel Perle, blending preservation with modern luxury. The hotel features 10 spacious, unique large-format suites ranging from 800 to 1,900 square feet, including two-, three-, four-, five-, six-, and seven-bedroom units, each equipped with chef’s kitchens, hardwood floors, en-suite washer/dryers, central HVAC, and luxurious bedrooms and bathrooms. The ground floor hosts a 3,000-square-foot café and bar concept.

Key to the project’s success was the collaborative approach our team took with the architects, engineers, interior designers, owner, and trade partners, overcoming challenges related to the accelerated timeline and the complexities of working with a historic structure. We  preserved the original atrium and masonry walls while introducing new amenities such as a rooftop pool above the parking garage and a terrace bar. A standout feature is the monumental staircase, which ties the original courtyard entrance to the second-floor lobby and leads to the lounge and pool area—an impressive first impression for guests. Retaining the historic atrium and walkways posed challenges in integrating new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, while the building’s uneven floors required creative solutions for layout and leveling.
